When I worked on renovation projects, there was a lot I had to keep in my head.
I had plenty of documents saved. But when a question came up, I still had to search through files and notes, then work out whether it was time to deal with it—and what needed to happen first.
Recently, I started using AI to help turn that experience into tools.
I began with the order things happen during a renovation, placing scattered information at the point where it would actually be useful.
As I worked on it, I realised the hardest part was explaining my own experience clearly.
Things that felt obvious in day-to-day work needed to be spelled out: Why do this now? When does it apply? Where does someone still need to make a judgement?
AI can help me organise the material. I still have to answer those questions myself.
These tools will stay internal while we continue refining them. Here, I will share the process: the problems we encounter, the changes we make, and the ideas that turn out not to work once we try them.
I want to see whether years of experience can become something genuinely useful in everyday work.
